◤《山登りのお供に軽い・簡単設営のRolo tableを》
「檜（ヒノキ）は、日本固有の常緑高木で、木材として高級家具や建材として使用されている」
Rolo tableの材を選ぶ時に、真っ先に候補にあげていた木材。
なめらかな触り心地に、高い耐久性、抗菌・防虫効果、そして何よりも軽量で経年変化の楽しめること。

天板は反りや強度を保つギリギリをねらった10㎜厚を採用しました。
もっと薄くても良いかもしれませんが、これは個人的な好みです。
また、アルミと木の相性が好きな私は、展開に必要な渡し棒にアルミ棒を使ってみました。やっぱり良い。

軽さ、薄さを追求するば自ずと、木製道具は避けられがちですが、
やはり自然の中で感じる木の温もりや柔らかい趣は何物にも代えがたいかと。

その点、檜（ヒノキ）は軽く、何より経年変化で自分だけの道具に育てる楽しみがあります。

～《For mountain climbing, a lightweight and easy-to-set-up Rolo table.》～
"Cypress (Hinoki) is an evergreen tree native to Japan and is used as high-quality furniture and building material."
When choosing the material for the Rolo table, it was the first option that came to mind.
Its smooth texture, high durability, antibacterial and insect-repellent properties, and above all, its lightweight and enjoyable aging process.

For the tabletop, I opted for a thickness of 10mm, aiming for the balance between warping and strength.
It could perhaps be thinner, but that’s my personal preference.
Also, as someone who likes the compatibility of aluminum and wood, I tried using aluminum rods for the necessary crossbars.
It really is good.

Pursuing lightness and thinness tends to lead one to avoid wooden tools, yet the warmth and soft charm of wood felt in nature are irreplaceable.

In that respect, cypress (Hinoki) is light and offers the joy of growing a tool that is uniquely yours over time.
